Established in 1980, IMS company develops and produces isotope, x-ray and optical measuring systems for industrial use in the steel, aluminium and metal industries.
IMS head office is located in Heiligenhaus, Germany, and currently have a workforce of more than 350
employees on five continents.

IMS is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of x-ray, isotope and optical measuring systems for the steel, metal and aluminium industries, where they are used for material inspection purposes.

During production these systems detect, among other parameters, the outer contours of steel and aluminium strip, plate and tube continuously and without making contact with the material. This optimises the production equipment, improves the quality of products and lowers production costs.
